Guided Mountain Walks, Lake District

Safely enjoy the mountains in the Lake District with an experienced, qualified and insured Mountain Leader

Morris is a fully qualified and insured Mountain Leader with over 30 years of mountain walking and scrambling experience throughout the UK, including climbing all 284 Scottish Munros, in all weathers.  He has over 20 years of winter walking experience, including completing log-book and course for the Winter Mountain Leader Award (an injury sadly prevented him from taking the assessment).  He is a keen ice-climber, member of the Mountain Training Association, a probationary member of the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team and a Community First Responder.  He is available to guide you safely up any mountain walk in the Lake District (weather dependent).

We have loads of great mountain walks which start right from our front door!

Morris can guide you on any mountain walk up to about 12 miles.  He is 60 years old so does not walk as fast as he used to!  If you want to walk FAST, then he suggests booking somebody else!  If you want to walk steadily and enjoy good and fun chat and company as you go, then he's your man!

Price per full day (4-8 hours):  £120 (This is the overall price for taking between one and six people, plus my transport costs of £1 per mile if you wish to start somewhere other than Patterdale).

Price per half day (up to 4 hours - eg Howtown to Glenridding walk, or Angle Tarn).  £60 (This is the overall price for taking between one and six people, plus my transport costs of £1 per mile if you wish to start somewhere other than the Patterdale/Glenridding area).

We can run bespoke packages with accommodation too.

My work commitments as the local part-time vicar mean I am unable to guide on Sunday mornings (Lol! ;-) ), and my preferred days for guiding are Wed-Sat, though I can guide other days with reasonable notice.

Please note that this is the Lake District and it gets wet and windy often!  This means that all the best intentions and plans have to be modified in the light of the weather, and in the light of clients' clothing, fitness and ability.  Alternative plans can always be made irrespective of the weather conditions.  We cannot refund payments because 'the weather looks bad'!

A kit list will be sent with all bookings.  Some clothing and equipment may be hired if necessary at an additional charge, and if available.

If booking a guided walk, details of medical conditions will be requested, to enable your day to be as safe as possible and for awareness in case of any emergencies.  These details will be destroyed afterwards in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
